Zhuhai Huafa & CPAA Grand Theatre

Situated in Zhuhai, “Pearl” of the Zhujiang Delta, Zhuhai Huafa & CPAA Grand Theatre is part of the Zhuhai International Convention and Exhibition Center. Standing on Nanwan Avenue of Wanzai and opposite to Macau over a river, it is the first multi-purpose venue for performing arts that complies with international standards.

The theatre was designed by RMJM Architecture & Masterplanning, one of the leading firms in architecture. Müller-BBM of Munich, Germany, was responsible for the acoustis. With investment from the Huafa Group for the construction, the theatre boasts a total construction area of 90,945.53 square meters, 57,087.62 of which are for ground levels, and the rest under. When viewed from above, it resembles a Persian harp resting in the water, exuding a distinctive aura of post-modernism in its unique exterior. The theatre is home to a modern theatre hall and a concert hall with a classical romantic style. Both halls share a lobby, two VIP rooms and a VIP passage. In the two underground levels, there are three layers of stages as well as warehouses for accessories, logistics, equipment and parking space. In the three ground levels, there are 6 localized layers (for equipment), housing three multi-purpose halls, a public hall, meeting rooms of various sizes, VIP zone, office area, accessory rooms, equipment rooms, etc.
