Laura Richaud (Italy)

Laura Richaud has devoted over forty years to piano education and to guiding young musicians’ professional paths. A visionary cultural entrepreneur, she founded and directs major institutions that have shaped Italy's musical life, including the Academy of Music of Pinerolo–Turin and Italy's first third-level School of Specialization in music. After winning sixteen first prizes, she graduated with honors in 1979 and taught principal piano at the Conservatories of Bari, Cuneo, and Turin until 2021. Alongside an active concert career, she developed a distinguished pedagogical profile, with students winning major international awards. In 1994 she founded the “Città di Pinerolo” International Chamber Music Competition, now part of the World Federation of International Music Competitions. She also created the Autumn Music Festival and the Musica d'Estate summer campus in Bardonecchia. Today all initiatives converge in the ETS Academy of Music Foundation, where she serves as Founder, President, and Artistic Director. The Academy collaborates with leading institutions such as the Fiesole Music School and the RAI National Symphony Orchestra. She is often invited to be a jury member in international competitions sich as the Telekom Beethoven Competition, Porto Intrnational Competition, etc… 


She has launched projects including the Academy Chamber Orchestra, Academy Choir, Open Source Project, and Polo delle Arti. 


In 2024, she was appointed President of the ETS Academy of Music Foundation, reaffirming her commitment to excellence in musical education and cultural development.
