Petru MUNTEANU
Prof. Petru Munteanu received his professional training in Bucharest from Prof. G. Manoliu (pupil of Enescu) and took part in master classes with J. Jankelevitsch (Moscow) and M. Weiman (St. Petersburg). After a period as a professor at the Bucharest Conservatoire and director of the Special School of Music in Bucharest, he has been teaching since 1970 at the conservatoires in Lübeck and Hamburg.In 1994 Prof. Munteanu had been offered a professorship at the Rostock Conservatoire and 2012 also in Universität Augsburg, Leopold-Mozart-Zentrum. He became well known in and outside Germany by concerts, master classes and his numerous publications and speeches. He was teaching in different master classes: Russia (Moscow, St. Petersburg), Ukraine (Kiev, Charcot), China (Shanghai), USA (Brunswick), Spain (Madrid), Poland, Romania, CS (Praha), Switzerland (Bern) and Austria (Graz). Prof. Munteanu is artistic director of the international violin competition and the master classes for strings in Kloster Schöntal, Germany. His students are members or concertmasters of the best European Orchestras (Philharmonics Berlin, Hamburg, Wiener Philharmonic etc.) and lots of them have been awarded prizes at national and international music competitions (also 1. Prize in Bruxelles 2001). He also works as member of the jury at great international music competitions e. g. “Jampolsky” (Russia), “Kocian”,“Concertino Prague” (Czech Republic), “Wieniawski” (Poland), “Bach“ (Leipzig), “Markneukirchen”, “Enescu” (Bucharest), “Tchaikovsky” (Moscow), “Premio Paganini” (Genoa), “Premio Lipizer” (Gorizia), “Queen Elisabeth” (Brussels).
